Single Cask “Bota NO”. Aged in oloroso cask
44% alc. – 70cl
Bottled in April-May 2016
Jerez de la Frontera
800 bottles
This rum is sourced from one of the stunning butts—formerly used to age oloroso—in the same solera that gave birth to our prestigious 2013 cask strength release (for the U.S. market only). The difference in this case is that this is a single cask bottling from a butt that has been emptied exceptionally for this release. We have also decided to bottle it at a more civilized 44% alc. instead of the native 50% alc.
Between fifteen and twenty years old, this is a genuinely exceptional rum. La Bota de Ron Muy Viejo 65 “Bota NO” shows a stout heart coherent with its origin in sugar cane, as opposed to the more elegant La Bota de Malt Whisky 66 and, especially, La Bota de Brandy 64, but the mouthfeel is soft and plush, a textbook example of the ideal iron fist in a velvet glove. Unchillfiltered, it has—like all other bottlings from Equipo Navazos—no added aromatics, sweeteners or colorants. In fact, it has no additives at all.
