It is now the tenth birthday of our adventure at Equipo Navazos. It all started one fine late autumn morning in 2005 in Sanlúcar, triggered by our astonishment at a powerful and elegant wine that would later become La Bota de Amontillado nº 1 “Navazos”.
Ten years later (“Diez años después…”) we propose a celebration for this anniversary with a unique Palo Cortado coming from Chiclana de la Frontera, a less known commune with an old tradition of grape growing and wine making in the Sherry Region, but whose wines cannot be labeled as Jerez-Xérès-Sherry. An extremely old “NO” wine, very elegant despite its concentration and complexity, sourced from a single cask that has been ageing for more than 50 or 60 years in the Bodega Campano of M. Aragón. After decades of unreplaced evaporation (the angels’ share) , the butt had some 300 liters left that have been wholly withdrawn and then bottled.
With La Bota de Palo Cortado 62 “Diez años después…” Equipo Navazos wants to thank the support and acknowledge the contribution of the friends who walk with us on this fascinating trip. This time, part of the bottles produced have been released through our usual distributors and importers.
